INCH BY INCH

Inch by inch

The phrase" inch by inch" according to Collins dictionary,  "if someone or something moves inch by inch, they move very SLOWLY and CAREFULLY".

INCH BY INCH IS A MOVEMENT OF AN OBJECT OR AN ACTION BIT BY BIT OR UNIT BY UNIT WITH A CAREFULLY MIND.

This topic is so wide and deep for us to unravel.   So we will be treating two important point that concerned us as a student.

1. SETTING/ ACHIEVING YOUR GOAL  INCH BY INCH

2. TACKLING CHALLENGES INCH BY INCH

1. SETTING/ ACHIEVING YOUR GOAL  INCH BY INCH, Collins dictionary defines  GOAL as something that you hope to achieve, especially when much time and effort will be needed. My definition of GOAL IS A PLANNED AND OUTLINE TARGET OF EVERY INDIVIDUALS.

SO, WHAT DO WE MEAN BY SETTING YOUR GOAL INCH BY INCH?

It refers to a process of determining what the participants goals are, working towards them and assessing it CAREFULLY whether the goals are met.  Let run through this few point of setting / achieving our goal inch by inch :-

1. OWN YOUR GOALS.

Devise and write down goals that are agreeable to you, that you will commit to, and that you are willing to accept as your own. After all, these are your goals and should represent what you want to achieve, not what you think others want you to accomplish.

2.. PRAY TO YOUR CREATOR

We live in life where connection makes everything, in order to achieve our desired goal, our creator, our source of life must be involved. This should be the number but as we are, we think of our own before God.

3.  STATE GOALS IN THE POSITIVE.

Armando Navarro quotes " will is power. A person has the power his will gives him"

Keep your eyes on where you want to go rather than where you don’t want to go. In my junior secondary school days, I will say in my heart that I WANT to be the first position in my class while I'm not willing to  be first Position, cause in the same heart, I have a doubt that I can't because  of those are superior to me. So,  I had to  change My plan to "if I can made it between first to tenth, I will be okay". I'm just learning that was wrong. If we want to state our goal positive, say it with boldness in your heart and to yourself and follow it strongly with the power of WILL

4. INVOLVE A SUPPORT SYSTEM.

Let supporters like friends, family, and training partners(i.e classmate or workmate) know what your goals are so that they can help you stay accountable to those goals and provide encouragement along the way.

5.   Be Determined, Diligent and Discipline

Why are these important? When we set our goal, tell it to God and our well-wishers, we need to work on ourselves and when we want to work on ourselves, we need the three D's which are stated above. After we set our goal, we need to be determined so we won't get distracted which little enjoy of moments. A diligent mind is an understanding mind, when We are diligent to our studies, There won't be chance for mediocrity in our life. Last is Discipline, discipline seems to look like a punishment but it is an exercise to the wise, when we restricted ourselves from what will change our point of view (GOAL), we will be unstoppable.

6.  Be a Life Long Learner

We live in exciting and interesting times. We live at the crossroads of revolutions in electronic technology, genetic engineering, and international economics. The only certainty in life is change, opportunity for some, and future shock for others. Education is the door to opportunity. Your most valuable asset and skill in life as well as in the market place is your ability to learn and to apply this knowledge. Take this along "No one can teach you how to think, you must motivate yourself to learn how to learn!"

7. Possess a teachable heart.

Teachable heart is also known as humble heart. A goal setter that doesn't possess that type of heart is likely to lose focus and end up beating himself.

Living a meaningful life involves struggles. Instead of trying to avoid them, use strategies to meet your challenges head on and triumph

2. TACKLING CHALLENGES INCH BY INCH, Mardi Ballou qouted that "Inch by inch it's all a cinch, by the yard it's hard. Go for it -- no matter how slow or long the process seems at first".

When we are careful to achieving our goal , there will some challenges which we need to slowly tackle it. Challenges  are phobia, phobia is equal to fear and FEAR IS FAKE EXPRESSION APPEARING REAL, wait it is fake but it will comes to us as if it is real whereas it is not real. Our challenges don't hold us but we cling to our challenges, why? We take it as important part of life but it isn't. Our challenges are like balloons  🎈, if we let it go, then it will give to somewhere else but if we hold to it, it will pull us down.

1. Keep your cool

When dealing with difficulties, patience is needed. Frantic and desperate measures are unlikely to help; these drain you physically, emotionally and financially. Success and healing come from God. All you need to do is put in reasonable, persistent efforts and ask God for help; leave the rest to Him.

2. Forgive

We often blame others or ourselves for our problems; this only exacerbates our pain and distracts us from addressing the issue. Since everything in our lives occurs because God wants it to, for our highest good, the question is not, “Who can I blame?” The question is, “How can I grow and overcome this?” (At the same time, when appropriate, we can still hold others accountable for their behavior).

3. Never beat yourself

We often make mistakes and blame ourselves, which it is wrong. Mistake is the greatest lesson that we ought to learn from and to pull down the trigger. Whenever we blamed ourselves, it has psychological effect on us.

4.  Realize everyone has difficulties

Often, we compare our lives to others, especially the airbrushed Facebook versions, and wonder, “Why can’t my life be like theirs? Why is my life so full of struggle?” But we are only seeing a small part of the overall picture. If we knew all their issues, psychological problems or academic difficulties, we would prefer to keep our own strengths and blessings, even if they come with challenges.

5.  Live life and be yourself

You may think, “When will this problem be over with already, so I can get on with my life?” The truth is, right now, this is your life. This isthe best use of your time and how you currently fulfill your life’s purpose.

Don’t put your life on hold just because you’re struggling in one area. Give yourself permission to be happy and enjoy life, as best you can. Throughout the day, look for reasons to smile or laugh. Having a slight smile on your face, even for no reason, can shift your mindset to a more positive one.

6. Focus on what’s going right

When dealing with an issue, our tendency is to hyper focus on the difficulty, to the exclusion of everything else. Instead, make sure to notice and appreciate your blessings, savoring each one.

7. Help others.

Even if your life is full of struggles, see how you can be of service to other people. We’re all in this together; by assisting each other, we will get through our difficulties. For example, our ND 2 are having project to execute, siwes to defend and exam to take yet they spare their time to tutor us. So, when we are going through difficulties, helping other has an impact in us. Even if the impact didn't come now, it will appear in the nearest future.

8. Reach out for support.

There are three sources of support. The first is God. Unburden yourself to Him; tell Him about your struggles and fears and ask for His help. If you feel overwhelmed and are having trouble coping, tell Him that and ask Him to strengthen you.

The second is other people. Let them know what you need, whether it is emotional or material support, or both. Don’t be ashamed; everyone needs help at some point.

Depending on the issue, you may want to consult with a social worker to see if there are any social services available to you. In addition, is there an organization that provides support for people in your situation? If not, consider starting one; that’s how many organizations where founded. The third source of support is ourselves. We need to talk to ourselves with words of compassion and encouragement. Show yourself the same kindness, warmth and care you would show a family member or friend who is going through a tough time.

Before I put down my pen, "Living a meaningful life involves struggles. Instead of trying to avoid them, use strategies to carefully solve your  challenges to head on and triumph over them"

His program centers on the innovative Recirculatory Aquaculture System (RAS), a method that recycles water through mechanical and biological filtration to allow for high-density, sustainable fish farming while minimizing the use of land and water. Gombe, like many parts of Nigeria, is grappling with the dual challenges o...
