MORE THAN A FRIEND: OBADARA

Obadara is a soul whose strength is like an undeviating flame, quietly burning with doggedness amidst life's unpredictable storms. He carries within him a melody of fortitude that hums softly, providing a steady rhythm to those who listen closely. On days when the skies turn grey and the world seems to lose its color, Obadara is the one who paints a rainbow with his smile, reminding us that there is beauty to be found in every moment. His laughter is a sanctuary, a place where worries are forgotten and joy is rekindled. It's a healing sound that transforms moments of despair into memories of happiness. Obadara knows the art of concealing his own battles, choosing instead to be a pillar of strength for others. He stands firm, like an ancient baobab tree, offering shelter and guidance to those seeking refuge from life's relentless downpour. In his presence, you won't find pity, but rather the fierce resolve of a man who has chosen to rise above the tides that ...

HUNGER SPEAKS LOUDER THAN OUR DIFFERENCES

The moment I stumbled upon the image that spoke louder than words, I found myself compelled to share the inspiration it whispered to the depths of my soul. It was not just any photograph; it was a mirror reflecting the poignant truths of our existence. The scene was simple: a dialogue frozen in time, a question posed to a young girl. " Are you Hindu, Christian, or Muslim? " asked by unknown voice, seeking to categorize her essence with a label. But her response was a profound declaration that echoed the cries of millions: " I AM HUNGRY ." In that moment, the labels lost their power. The boundaries we construct—religion, race, status—dissolved into the stark reality of her words. Hunger knows no creed; it does not discriminate. It is the great equalizer that unites us in our most basic human need. This image, a mere snapshot, became a canvas on which the story of humanity was painted. It reminded me that behind the veils of identity we wear, there lies a ...

KING IS NOT BURIED ALONE

PC: Google  The humid Omitoro air hung heavy, thick with the scent of impending rain and the distant thrumming of bata drums. In the heart of the royal court, murmurs rippled through the crowd like leaves trembling before a storm. The king, the lion of the land, lay lifeless, his once vibrant eyes dimmed by the veil of the ancestors. A palpable grief settled upon the city. The marketplace, usually a cacophony of bartering and laughter, stood eerily silent. Women, their faces etched with sorrow, keened in the streets, their mournful cries echoing through the labyrinthine alleys. Even the harmattan wind seemed to hold its breath, mourning the passing of a giant. For in Yoruba culture, a king's death was not merely an individual's passing; it was a seismic shift, a tremor that reverberated through every fiber of the kingdom. The king, chosen by the gods themselves, was not just a ruler, but a vessel, a living embodiment of the land's prosperity and well-being. His...

NO FAMILY IS PERFECT

I have come to realize that whatever might be the problem between a father and children, the father will forever be the first hero or deity of the family and the mother is the first goddess. But heroes fall and goddesses cry. They make mistakes and hurt us with their words or actions. They are too busy or too tired to listen or understand. They are not the ones we want them to be. And we disappoint them. We rebel and argue and disobey. We take them for granted and forget to appreciate them. We are not the ones they need us to be. But no matter what, we are still a family. We are bound by more than name or bloodline. We are connected by love and trust, by memories and dreams, by hopes and fears. We are there for each other, even when it is hard to like or accept them. We stand by each other, in times of joy and sorrow, in good and bad, in rain or shine. We share not only love and trust, but also flaws and wants, because we are nothing but only one family. So we should not wa...

OF COURSE WE ARE NIGERIANS; SECURITY IS NOT ARMED FORCE BUSINESS ALONE

PC :  Al farukiy001 Nigeria is a country that faces many security challenges, such as terrorism, banditry, kidnapping, and communal clashes. These threats have claimed the lives of many innocent civilians and brave military personnel who risk their lives to protect and defend the nation. The Nigerian Armed Forces have been at the forefront of combating these security issues, often with limited resources and support. They deserve our respect, appreciation, and solidarity as fellow Nigerians. However, some Nigerians have been using social media platforms to spread fake news, misinformation, propaganda, and hate speech that undermine the efforts of the military and endanger national security. Some of these social media users are either ignorant, misinformed, or malicious. They do not care about the consequences of their actions, or the impact they have on the morale and reputation of the military and the unity and stability of the country. This is unacceptable and irrespon...
