When I'm famished and my soul is weary,
When the tunnel is dark and scary,
I solemnly believed that the Lord is my Shepherd.
Nutritious food are far fetch,
yet I shall not lack for he is nigh me.
He found me wandering in the desert of dry grasses
His comforting shoulders become my solid ground
He makes me lie down in green pastures;
When my soul becomes hell, burning like a fiery hade
He leads me beside the still and restful waters to cool my soul.
He took me back to the fellowship of my brethen,
And wash away my dusty skin
He cleansed me as white as crystal snow
He refreshes and restores my life ;
He leads me in the paths of uprightness for His name’s sake.
When I was far from the fold
And my garment is stained with bloody sin
The pathway to the valley of the shadow of death opened for me
And the grave is hungry; ready to swallow me,
But I will fear no evil, my shepherd is nigh me His rod and his staff direct my path and they comfort me.
Can wild animal slay me?
Nay! my Shepherd is ready to lay his life
With my own have I seen him
Slaughtering the wild animal with his own hands
He crushed the head of the snake with legs
So long as I stay with him, I shall eat plentiful in presence of my enemies.
