ROAD TO 2023 GENERAL ELECTION

As the preparation of 2023 general election is blazoning, many valid Nigerians are at the station waiting to board coach that will take them to promise land. There are many driver with different conductors and hooligans advertising and calling people into their master's exaggerated coach. Past eras, we have learned that leadership is more than what eyes can see, what mouth will taste or peanuts our hands will pocketed, but rather Leadership is by killing one's self-interest and table the subject's interest, serving them like a true servant- leader and making life better for every individuals. Reversed is the case in Nigeria, among the political class in Nigeria, who has these characteristics among them? the result of 2023 general election will forever linger in our memory for good eight years, the better the decision, the better life become for the us and vice versa.

After the 2015 general election, Nigeria can hardly find it title as the giant of Africa due the route the country has been taken to, Nigeria roam with lilliputian Nations because the country has been led by minuscule minded individuals. In most of the world's record, Nigeria can't be found on the positive chart ranking the top ten but rather, Nigeria rank top ten in negative chart, how on earth is the giant of Africa found in this mud? it is the result of wrong step taken in 2015.

From terrorism to banditry to countless sub-national, ethnic, political, religious, educational crisis, cultural, and environmental skirmishes, Nigeria have arrived at the door of No Return in Ouidah,Benin, that infamous boundary through which millions of Africans were forced onto slave ships heading to Brazil, the Caribbean and America. It is so disconsolate that we have to endure these tragedies which have become common features of our national existence. Of course, nothing can justify the reprehensible practice of a nation preying on its citizens. When that happens, it calls to question the foundation and future of that nation; it shows how flawed our nation is.

Those casting the hat forward for vote in order lead the country are not taking a dim fitted stand on this crucial question. This isn't pointing only to how unlearned, ungrounded and unprepared but also their lack of forthrightness and the deepness of their ideologies, they've no vision or architecture of the kind of country they want to build and serve and no believe in that country. Faith in one Nigeria even though our motto says, "unity and faith, peace and progress" is a scarce commodity among the political structure.

However, while the conductors are calling in valid Nigerians, giving them temporary features of the bus, it's the duty of every individuals to inspect and question the driver about the state of the bus and latest report of the journey he is about to take them. Getting voters cards isn't enough but Voters must crave for wide knowledge on chosing. In order to discover and live in our past giant of Africa filled with love and oneness, a nation where sons and daughters of nobody can become somebody without the process of godfatherism, Nigerian must scrutinized and pressed on each presidential candidates, by examining their past records, their current state of mind, their capacity and capability. Remember leadership is more than what eyes can see, what mouth can taste and peanuts our hands can pocketed. Vote wisely!
