NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF MASS COMMUNICATION STUDENTS LAUNCHES CUTTING-EDGE PHOTOGRAPHY STUDIO.

 Promise Odejide

The outgoing president of the National Association of Mass Communication Students (NAMCOS) Kwara State Polytechnic Chapter, Sen Adeyeye Adejare Joshua, spearheaded the launch of a cutting-edge Mass Communication photography studio at Kwara State Polytechnic. The new studio aims to provide print students with practical facilities to enhance their skills in photography and is a notable addition to the department's infrastructure.

During the launching ceremony, Sen Adeyeye Adejare Joshua expressed his happiness in achieving his final project as the president of NAMCOS. He shared his inspiration for the initiative, stating that the absence of a practical studio for print students led him to break the barrier and create this photography studio. While broadcast students already had access to radio and television studios, the print students were lacking such essential facilities, making it crucial to bridge the gap.

The newly launched Mass Communication photography studio boasts a wide array of cutting-edge equipment, including professional lighting, various backdrops, high-quality cameras, and other important photography gear. This studio is not only equipped for educational purposes but also capable of being used for commercial ventures; the school can have access to it whenever there's an event in the school.

"It's crucial for print students to have a dedicated space where they can put into practice what they are taught. This studio will enable them to develop practical skills and excel in their chosen field," Adejare emphasized.

In an interview, the President said, "The studio is dedicated to God, all students, the CEE-JAY team, and the departmental lecturers." Sen Adejare expressed his gratitude and credited the success of the studio to various individuals, including the Head of Department, Dr. AA Saadudeen, the departmental lecturers, and the CEE-JAY team. He also acknowledged the support of Mr. Olufadi, Mr. Olohungbebe, and his Special Assistant on projects, Comr. Ibrahim.
The launch event saw prominent personalities in attendance, including the IICT Director, Dr. AK Raji, and the Father of all student, the Director of Student Services (DSS), Dr. Saheed Ajadi. The Head of the Mass Communication Department, Dr. AA Saadudeen, and other departmental lecturers were also present. The event was further graced by the presence of the current Student Union Government (SUG) president and his team, along with the Open Distance Flexible E-Learning (ODFEL) Students.

Corps Member Tackles Unemployment in Gombe with Fish Farming Training

A bold new project aimed at transforming the lives of 100 young people in Gombe is underway, as Ishaq Abdullahi Shehu, a dedicated National Youth Service Corps member from Kano State, turns his agricultural expertise into a community development program. The initiative focuses on modern fish farming techniques designed to combat youth unemployment and boost local food production. Ishaq, a graduate of agriculture from Kano University of Science and Technology Wudil with specializations in forestry, fisheries, and wildlife, is committed to changing the perception of farming. “Agriculture must be seen as a viable business, not just a way of life,” he explains. His program centers on the innovative Recirculatory Aquaculture System (RAS), a method that recycles water through mechanical and biological filtration to allow for high-density, sustainable fish farming while minimizing the use of land and water. Gombe, like many parts of Nigeria, is grappling with the dual challenges o...
