HASSAN MUHAMMED BABATUNDE EMERGES 2023/2024 NAMCOS PRESIDENT

By Promise Odejide

Hassan Muhammed Babatunde has been declared the new President of the National Association of Mass Communication Students (NAMCOS) Kwara State Polytechnic Chapter. In a closely contested election held yesterday, Babatunde emerged victorious, defeating his opponent Omotayo Emmanuel by a significant margin.

Using the e-voting system, students of the department cast their votes online for their preferred candidate. Babatunde secured a total of 222 votes, while Emmanuel received 174 votes. The 48-vote gap clearly indicated the popularity and support Babatunde garnered during the election.

As the newly elected NAMCOS President, Babatunde is expected to lead and represent the interests of mass communication students nationwide. His victory reflects the confidence and trust that the student body has placed in him to fulfill this role effectively.

Babatunde's success in the 2023/2023 SUG election highlights his ability to connect with his peers and convey a compelling vision for the future of mass communication. His leadership is anticipated to bring positive changes and advancements within the association, fostering a conducive environment for learning and growth among its members.

With the advent of e-voting, the election process became more accessible and convenient for the students, ensuring a fair and transparent selection of their representative. This modern approach allowed for greater participation and minimized logistical challenges that typically accompany traditional voting methods.

As the news of Babatunde's victory spreads, mass communication students across the Institution eagerly anticipate the positive impact he will have on their academic and professional journey.

Your Products Are Found Everywhere, KWARAPOLY, Your Praises We Sing." These lines perfectly tells the story of Mosunmola. A graduate of the Mass Communication Department, she has excelled across various fields as a voiceover artist, OAP, red carpet host, and writer. Her latest feat as the best fellow at the 2024 Young Communication Fellowship, organized by PR Nigeria in partnership with Image Marketer Promotion (IMP), adds another feather to her cap. Mosunmola entered the fellowship as an alternative candidate but emerged as the bes...

A bold new project aimed at transforming the lives of 100 young people in Gombe is underway, as Ishaq Abdullahi Shehu, a dedicated National Youth Service Corps member from Kano State, turns his agricultural expertise into a community development program. The initiative focuses on modern fish farming techniques designed to combat youth unemployment and boost local food production. Ishaq, a graduate of agriculture from Kano University of Science and Technology Wudil with specializations in forestry, fisheries, and wildlife, is committed to changing the perception of farming. “Agriculture must be seen as a viable business, not just a way of life,” he explains. His program centers on the innovative Recirculatory Aquaculture System (RAS), a method that recycles water through mechanical and biological filtration to allow for high-density, sustainable fish farming while minimizing the use of land and water. Gombe, like many parts of Nigeria, is grappling with the dual challenges o...
