As the region looks toward sustainable development, improved security, and the protection of future generations, a growing conversation is emerging among stakeholders, elders, and the youth alike: Who among us has truly earned the right to speak and act on behalf of the people? One name keeps surfacing—not through propaganda, but through measurable and consistent impact—Professor Wale Sulaiman, CON. A proud indigene of Ajase-Ipo in Irepodun Local Government Area, Professor Olawale Abdulrafiu Sulaiman is an internationally acclaimed neurosurgeon, academic, physician executive, global philanthropist, and techno-politic...

The people are watching, not out of anger or distrust, but out of love. Love for progress. Love for the land that raised them. Love for the promises made at every campaign stop, in every handshake and every manifesto. Now in the sixth month of 2025, the journey of representation is well underway. Captain Fadolee; The Man Who Turns Moments Into unforgettable Memories

CFR- Captain For a Reason  Every memorable gathering has that one person who doesn’t just show up, they own the moment. Not by accident, not by luck,  but because it’s in their blood. That person, for many stages and many stories, has been Captain Fadolee. Born Olufadi Afeez Danjuma Olajide , and fondly known on the streets and in the spotlight as Captain Fadolee, this man isn’t just a hype man, he is the moment. A born showman, a respected host, a voice that hits the right notes every single time, and a name that has become synonymous with high energy and excellence. Weddings, concerts, award nights, campus events, name it. Wherever there's a crowd waiting to be moved, Captain Fadolee delivers like it’s his first and only shot. And that’s what makes him different. It’s not just about the noise or the mic, it’s about how he feels the pulse of a room and flips the switch. He doesn’t talk at the audience. He talks with them. He listens. He connects. And somehow, he always knows...

Hon. Joana Kolo Marks New Year as One of Kwara’s Voices for Girls and Good Governance

There was a time when the birth of a female child didn't have the purpose of celebration in many households. Male children were raised to aspire and lead, while female children were expected to conform. Education was rarely prioritised for them, and leadership was often seen as out of reach. In today’s Kwara State, however, that narrative is shifting. Among those contributing to this change is Hon. Joana Nnazua Kolo, Adviser on Girl Child Empowerment to the Governor of Kwara State. She is one of several young women in the state actively working to promote access to education, end harmful practices, and expand opportunities for young women. Since assuming the office, Joana has taken her work beyond formal spaces. She visits rural communities, speaks with young girls, holds sessions with mothers and traditional leaders, and supports efforts to strengthen policies that improve the wellbeing of girls. These engagements are making a difference, more girls are returning to sc...

AND I FIGURED THIS WITHIN ME

I don’t know how my story may sound to anyone, but I’m at the point where I feel like giving up. Every day, I wake up and go about my normal routine. I talk, I laugh, I do everything expected of me, but deep down, I feel empty. It’s like I’m here, but at the same time, I’m not. Nobody knows what I’m going through. Not my parents, not my friends. I don’t even know if I want them to know because I doubt they will understand. To them, I’m just fine. I’m living, I’m breathing, so everything should be okay, right? But it’s not. It hasn’t been for a long time. I have mastered the art of saying “I’m fine.” It’s the easiest way to avoid long conversations, to stop people from asking questions I don’t want to answer. It’s become second nature. Even when I feel like breaking down, I still manage to smile and say, “I’m good.” But in reality, I feel like a walking corpse, alive on the outside but dead inside. I don’t even know when I became like this. It wasn’t always like this. There ...

Ishaq, a graduate of agriculture from Kano University of Science and Technology Wudil with specializations in forestry, fisheries, and wildlife, is committed to changing the perception of farming. “Agriculture must be seen as a viable business, not just a way of life,” he explains. His program centers on the innovative Recirculatory Aquaculture System (RAS), a method that recycles water through mechanical and biological filtration to allow for high-density, sustainable fish farming while minimizing the use of land and water. Gombe, like many parts of Nigeria, is grappling with the dual challenges o...
